7th Annual Swan Lake Watershed Festival
On June 14th, Bowsman School's grade 5/6 classes joined other grade 5 students from throughout the valley for a fun-filled day at the Duck Mountain Forest Centre. Students participated in stations throughout the day with activities such as, Wild Toss, Fire Safety, Bush Safety, Hydration Station, Fish ID, Critter Dipping, Pre-Harvest Surveyor, Wildlife Station, Trash in my Tummy, Watershed Model, Stream Tables, and Flint Knapping. This educational event was not possible without the many volunteers and partners who made the day a success! Thank you to the following for making the day enjoyable: Inter-Mountain Watershed District Staff, Swan Valley Sport Fishing Enhancement Inc.- Brock Koutecky, LP Woodlands Staff, Birch River Fire Chief - Dave Forbes, Rick Wowchuk, Spruce Products Ltd. Staff, Scott Smith, Jeannette Coote, Kari Goethe & high school students, as well as the Swan Lake Watershed District board members and sub-district members.
